ulrike & dario
destination wedding at casa dos arcos
porto, portugal
Ulrike and Dario got married at Casa dos Arcos, just across the street from where they live. A short walk to change a life.
This was an intimate wedding in Porto, where she is German, he is Argentinian, and yet they chose Porto as their home together.
Strong winds and rain moved the ceremony indoors, but the atmosphere remained full of emotion and meaning. Ulrike did her own hair and makeup, something she had done for ten years in her performances, but never had it felt so significant as it did on her wedding day.
She was nervous, especially about reading her vows in Argentinian. Still, she stood there with her father officiating the ceremony, gently placing his hand on her back, a quiet gesture of love and reassurance that made everything feel possible.
This was a multilingual wedding in Portugal, with families connected across distance and presence, different languages blending into one shared understanding: love, and a little English.
At the end, she changed out of her wedding dress into a stylish pink suit, closing the day in her own unique way.
It was a beautiful, honest wedding in Porto, and I felt lucky to be there to witness it.
