wedding reportage

Documentary wedding reportage is a very natural way of catching the beauty of those unique moments.
These will be photographs that portray not only people, but also their emotions and everything spontaneous or unexpected, which makes it the most genuine record you could have of such a special day.

f.a.q.

I’m very discreet, and I never interfere during the day. I try to prevent my presence from disturbing the moments or the way people are living them. It is very difficult for me to identify with any particular style.

Although I consider my work some kind of photo-journalism, as I simply portray what is happening, the truth is that my vision, the way I choose to frame things and the things I choose to pay attention to, result in a very subjective work, but always very spontaneous and natural. I would say I’m a documentary photographer.

I only do photography, but I can recommend some video teams that have a similar way of working.

Yes. In my opinion it is extremely important to make a photoshoot before the wedding day. Especially so that we can know each other better and so that you get more comfortable with my presence and the presence of the cameras. Therefore, everything will flow very naturally in your big day, and you will be able to enjoy it more with your friends and family.

Until eight weeks after the wedding you’ll get access to an online gallery with the photographs that I’ve edited one by one. This gallery is the best way to share your photos with your family and guests. You can download them for free or, if you wish, you can buy them in physical format directly from the platform, which is also an online shop.

In case you choose the pack which includes a physical album, two weeks after receiving the gallery, you will receive a digital album preview. After that, depending on your approval, you will get the printed album. In the end you will also get a wooden box with some printed photos and a pen-drive with all the gallery photos in high resolution.

I usually work alone. However, if for some reason I need an second shooter, such as for weddings with more than 100 guests, I usually work with photographers I trust, so that I can guarantee the same photographic quality.

Always available, I love to travel and to explore new cultures and traditions, so I am available to travel anywhere.

Not at all, quite the opposite. Especially as my style of photography is documentary, the fact that the location is new to me will stimulate me even more, as everything will be a greater discovery and dazzle, which makes me want to explore even more every possible corner and frame.

Being passionate about life and all the beautiful things of the everyday life, and loving to photograph people, I feel that wedding photography gives me the best of both worlds.

I love to meet new people and to get along with them. So, being with them in such an important day, seeing them enjoying life with every fibre of their being, and being able to register those moments so that they can always be remembered, thrills me like no other kind of photography.

I am there, I feel alive in the presence of all that, and I have total freedom to tell the story of that day according to my point of view. I am not particularly great with words, so I let my photographs speak for me. I hope they my feelings.

I started photographing weddings in 2006, so I’ll leave the calc to you, hehe!

Of course, didn’t I say I was a hopeless romantic? Hehe I love to see people getting emotional, but I also like the unexpected, and all those small moments that happen between everything that was planned for the day.

day
in the life

photoshoot

The record of a full day in the life of a family or a couple, where nothing is staged. This is a reportage that allows to eternalize truly genuine memories, portraying the unique dynamics of each family, just as they are, at a certain time in life.

moment
in the life

photoshoot

Photoshoots to mark and celebrate any special moment, or just because you want it. Instances that are thus engraved in time, whether they are family events, couple’s memories, a shared moment between friends or even an individual session.

f.a.q.

As a documentary photographer, I make a genuine report of what happens. Just that, with nothing being staged.

This results not always in all technically perfect photographs, with ideal light or impeccable framing. But they certainly are unique photos, in which unrepeatable moments are captured. These are undoubtedly records that are the true memories of the family, exactly as the family is, in the moment they are living.

That could be the smiles, but also some tantrums, the games, the playing, the daily routines, the clothes you normally wear, and the objects that normally surround you.

A “Day in The Life” reportage usually begins in the morning, at home, at the time the family normally wakes up. That’s when I start capturing your routines and photographing what you usually do during your day.

As an example, it’s a Saturday and normally the family goes for a walk in the morning, and in the afternoon, they stay home playing and watching movies? Or maybe they go to the beach, or the soccer match? Or even the supermarket? It can be anything, as long as it is natural for you.

Normally the reportage ends when the little ones go to bed.

Because every day there are moments, small gestures or details that mark the daily life of a family and that are so full of beauty.

A documentary photoshoot will allow you to have really genuine records of those family moments, that, all together, make up the history and memory of each family.

I believe a documentary reportage gains by being longer, for two reasons:

The first one always depends from family to family, of course, but the truth is that it usually takes some time for the family to actually get used to my presence and be able do “forget” that I am there.

On the other hand, there is beauty in so many moments! One day, especially in a family with more than one child, is divided into so many different moments, and so many things happen, that there is always a lot to document!

But if you come to the conclusion that on day is too much, we can always do just one part of the day, as only one morning, or an afternoon.

These photo sessions differ from the “Day in the Life” sessions essentially by being shorter. They can serve to mark and eternalize any special moment, such as the pregnancy or the last days of a couple before their wedding, or just a register of a phase in your life.

It can be a family session, a couple’s photo shoot, a moment shared with a group a friends or even an individual photo session.

In these photo sessions we can make a purely documentary record, simply portraying what is happening, or it can be something closer to lifestyle photography, por example. We can always mix a little bit of both, if that’s what you are looking for.

It would be important to talk with you beforehand so that I can understand the expectations you have for the photo shoot, so that you end up with the results you want.

Yes, of course. If you think this photo session is the ideal present to someone special, I have vouchers that you can offer.

I really like the fact that every couple or family is very different from the other and that they all have very unique dynamics. I love that nothing is controlled or embellished, and the chaos that sometimes emerges.

I also love the unexpected, for example, when I get surprised, by that small but so tender gesture that appears so naturally in the middle of a normal day.

couple’s words

ulrike + dario

“We are happy, and you exceeded our expectations. There have been many moments where we look through the pictures and we say again and again, this is one of the best investments we’ve made for the entire wedding because you managed to capture the real moments that we maybe didn’t even notice and now are able to fully revisit in an authentic way.

What you created is immensely precious, beautiful, funny, and skilful, and we are immensely fortunate to have had it on this special day with us.”
