A picnic by the river and laughter all around made this an intimate wedding in Lisbon that was anything but ordinary.

There was a sense of movement and spontaneity from the start. Make up even happened in an Uber, with family arriving from all over the world, some delayed due to Monday’s blackout, and last minute touch ups taking place right outside the civil registry office in Lisbon. Still, everything flowed naturally. With this family, even in the rush, there was calm, smiles and connection.

After a deeply emotional civil ceremony, we all headed to Parque das Nações. A cable car ride offered beautiful views over Lisbon and the river before arriving at a pizzeria for lunch.

What started as lunch quickly turned into a spontaneous picnic in the park, with river views, sunshine and champagne to celebrate love in a relaxed and joyful way. A perfect example of a relaxed wedding in Lisbon by the river.

We ended the day at the couple’s home, with more family time, heartfelt conversations and of course, the cake cutting.

The plan unfolded exactly as intended, to celebrate in a light hearted and genuine way, true to who they are. A different kind of wedding in Lisbon, full of heart and truly unforgettable.
