Weddings in São Miguel in the Azores are always something truly special.

The island is incredible and I never get tired of going back. It has a unique kind of magic, the sort you feel the moment you arrive, making it one of the most beautiful destinations for a wedding in Portugal.

Samantha and Hunter chose São Miguel for their destination wedding in the Azores. The celebration took place at CK Events in Vila Franca do Campo. A very intimate venue with the islet of Vila Franca as a backdrop, one of the most iconic views for weddings in the Azores, present in almost every frame like a living postcard.

Hunter’s father was the celebrant, and I can honestly say it was the shortest ceremony I have ever photographed, eheh.

The weather was incredible throughout the afternoon, which is not always guaranteed for weddings in São Miguel.

From the ceremony to the cocktail hour and dinner, everything flowed naturally, leading into a traditional folk dance performance that got everyone on their feet.

Later in the evening, the couple and a few friends even went for a swim, brave souls.

To end the night, the groom carried the bride on his shoulders to catch the return bus. An unforgettable wedding in the Azores, full of energy and real moments.
